"'Going through the motions' is a phrase more often associated with swimming near a sewage outlet, but it's more or less what I do, and with similar results."
- Ian Cugley
Manqué is a homage to the music of Ian Cugley, specifically his 1965 piece 'Pan the Lake: (Metamorphosis of a Theme by Peter Sculthorpe)'.
It was written as a transitioning phase between Cugley's influences like Webern and Sculthorpe and the amorphous meandering aftermath of his own music.
